The One Room Schoolhouse offers classes in the areas of creative writing, humanities, local history, poetry, public speaking, and Shakespeare. Genealogy is offered one-on-one by appointment. Teachers will find the Schoolhouse a great site for field trip opportunities. Home schooling parents and educators will find a consignment connection for teaching supplies and resources.
Goals at The One Room Schoolhouse:
*Help families write & document their genealogy and family stories. Each family's history is a part of America's history.
*Explore new ways to celebrate family.
*Complete a series of postcard books dedicated to Louisville and Kentucky history.

'Postcards from Abe'
Postcards from Abraham Lincoln, written to his friend Joshua Speed's mother, Lucy Speed, at Farmington Plantation in Louisville, Kentucky, are pretend. Despite the fact that this fun and educational book may not contain true artifacts, 'Postcards from Abe' provides an honest recollection of Lincoln's childhood, challenges, and career, culminating in his being elected to serve as the 16th president of the United States of America. Illustrations by Emry Quinn.

'Old Time Radio Show', 2002
When I was the principal at Trunnell Elementary, I wrote the skits, collected the music, and produced this 'Old Time Radio Show'. John Gage was our MC. John & Shelly Corder taught the childrren the music. Our show included sound effects, just like old time radio. KET came out and did a cover story on this project, we were broadcast on NPR and we got a nice write up in the Louisville Courier-Journal. (clip image to hear the entire show)

Neighborhood History projects
I worked with the Portland Museum & Dr. Tom Owen to create walking tour maps and neighborhood histories for Germantown, Jeffersontown, and the Trunnell Elementary community.
